MAINE FIREFIGHTER DIES IN THE LINE OF DUTY-Medical Emergency

It is with deep regret that we advise you that the Van Buren FD in Maine suffered a LODD yesterday, April 8th at approximately 2000 Hours  A 52 year old male Volunteer Firefighter suffered cardiac arrest while working at the fire station. Van Buren is located in the northern and most eastern part of the state on the Canadian border. The Van Buren Fire Department consists of 35 Volunteer Firefighters and responds to an average of 50 runs annually. Our sincere condolences to all affected.

PA FIREFIGHTER DOWN AT CRASH SCENE

A Firefighter suffered a possible CVA while at a crash scene on SR 54 in Rush Township at around 1300 hours this afternoon. He was transported by Air Medical to a trauma center. The tractor trailer was hauling coal and lost half the load. Rush Township is in Schuylkill County and 2 Volunteer Fire Companies serve Rush Township: the Hometown Fire Company and the Quakake Volunteer Fire Company. According to the Assistant Chief of Hometown, the FF/Fire-Police Officer is stable at this time at the hospital.
